Before I was running workshops like the one I’m hosting tomorrow, I was attending them.
Let me take you back:
It was Q1 of 2024.
My biggest Freelance contract had just been pulled. A massive holding company slashed every single freelance agreement across the board, and I was one of them.
I was suddenly out of work, staring at an empty calendar, and scrambling to figure out what was next.
Then I found a free virtual event. I didn’t know the host. I didn’t know what to expect. But I showed up anyway, desperate to feel like I wasn’t alone.
And that day?
It changed everything.
The workshop was overwhelming (hello, info firehose), but three things hit me like a brick:
I wasn’t alone. There were others like me; smart, experienced, ready to build something new.
People were doing it. Women who looked like me, sounded like me, came from similar paths and they were crushing it.
There was a way forward. I didn’t have all the answers yet. I didn’t even know what I wanted to sell. But I knew I wanted to be in the room.
That free virtual event? It lit the spark.
It gave me just enough vision, just enough direction, to keep going.
