Let’s Talk About Mid-Year Goals
We’re almost at the halfway mark of the year.
Fourth of July is around the corner, and July 1 is… my birthday.
I’m turning 44. And every year on my birthday, I set new resolutions.
Not just because I’m a goal-setter (which, yes, I absolutely am), but because having a birthday mid-year gives me this built-in moment to pause, reflect, and reset.
New Year’s resolutions? I make them like everyone else.
But birthday resolutions? I actually stick to them.
Last year, my birthday resolution was to commit to my sobriety.
And while I wasn’t perfect, I made it through the year mostly alcohol-free, and something amazing happened.
Just a few weeks ago, I was at the opening of a new restaurant, and someone offered me a glass of wine.
Without thinking, I said, “No thanks, I don’t drink.”
It came out effortlessly. And it floored me.
Because that statement—I don’t drink—wasn’t something I had to willpower my way into. It had become part of who I am.
This year, my commitment is to physical vitality.
My body is finally ready to level up after a long postpartum recovery. I’ve been gluten-free for nearly nine months, my energy is climbing, and I’m ready to match my internal growth with external strength.
So as I map out what I want for the next 12 months, I want to ask you:
What are you committing to for the back half of the year?
What version of you is ready to emerge between now and December?
But you’ve got to show up.
Oh, and seriously? I do read every reply. So if you want to share your own mid-year goal, email me and tell me. I’d love to hear it.
Here’s to clarity, commitments, and the second half of the year.
